Quickstart

From sign-in to your first defensible prevalence number in five minutes.

This guide walks you through the fastest path to value: open the app, locate your laboratory, and read a prevalence rate you can actually trust.

1. Open PrevIQ

Navigate to your PrevIQ instance (for example https://previq.ospri.bio) and sign in with the credentials OSPRI provided. The app opens on the Dashboard.

Note

If the page loads but every card shows a "Couldn't reach the API" banner, the web app is up but the data service is unavailable. See Troubleshooting.

2. Read the Dashboard

The Dashboard gives you the high-level picture across all loaded data:

  • KPI strip — normalized records, estimated specimens, total detections, vendor count, and overall prevalence.
  • Prevalence by syndrome — detection rate for each syndrome bucket.
  • Top organisms — the highest-prevalence organisms across labs (small samples filtered out).

3. Find your laboratory

Open the Vendors page and pick your lab from the selector. You'll see:

  • Estimated specimens, detections, panel count, and overall prevalence.
  • A syndrome breakdown chart.
  • An expandable list of panels — open one to inspect its ranked organisms.

Tip

Each lab is identified by a short vendor ID (for example AFC or OBG-YN). If you're not sure which is yours, ask your OSPRI contact.

4. Read a number correctly

Every prevalence rate carries two pieces of context you should always check:

  1. Check the sample-size tier

    Tier A (n ≥ 100) and Tier B (30 ≤ n < 100) are clinically reportable. Tier C (n < 30) is shown muted/italic — explore it, but don't make decisions on it. See Sample-size tiers.

  2. Check the confidence interval

    The 95% interval (for example [12.3 – 18.4%]) tells you how precise the estimate is. Wide intervals mean small samples — interpret with caution.

5. Generate a report

Open the Reports page, choose your lab, preview the client summary inline, then download it as Excel, CSV, JSON, or Markdown. The panel recommendation view sorts every organism into INCLUDE / WATCH / RARE.
