Run a client

The guided, end-to-end workflow for running one client — confirm, review, extract, check, ship.

Run a client is the fastest way to take one laboratory from "is the data there?" to a shareable, defensible report. It mirrors the standard analyst workflow as an ordered set of steps, and it carries a single run context — client, syndrome, and date range — through all of them, so you choose the client once.

Open it from the sidebar (Run a client, the first item) or from a vendor's page via Run this client.

The run context

A pinned bar at the top holds the whole run:

  • Client (Vendor ID) — the laboratory you're running.
  • Syndrome of interest — optional; narrows every step.
  • Date range — optional; when set, prevalence is recomputed live for that window (see Date range filtering).

The context lives in the URL, so a run is shareable and bookmarkable.

The steps

  1. Confirm data

Confirms the client is loaded and shows what's available — estimated specimens, the syndromes present, and the date window. If the client has no data yet, this step routes you to Pipeline to upload it.

  2. Review client

Headline metrics (specimens, detections, panels, overall prevalence), the syndrome breakdown, and the strongest organism signals — the Vendors view, scoped to the run.

  3. Extract slice

The prevalence rows for this client, with organism, panel, tier, and min-n controls. Read each number by checking tested, detected, and tier. Export current view matches every active filter (see Export formats).

  4. Readiness

The automated pre-share check for this client/syndrome — resolve blockers and verify the manual items before sharing.

  5. Report & handoff

Preview and download the client report (Excel / CSV / JSON / Markdown), see the INCLUDE / WATCH / RARE panel recommendation, and follow the closing reminders: label the export (client, syndrome, date range, min-tested, report type), and — if handing off to panel design — send a ranked, justified candidate set, not a raw organism list.

Tip

You can jump between steps freely with the step rail; the context follows you. Use Back / Next to walk the sequence in order.

Note

Nothing here is new capability — it's the Dashboard, Vendors, Explore, Readiness, and Reports surfaces stitched into one guided flow. Power users can still use those pages directly.
